       National Informatics Centre (NIC) of the Department of Information Technology is providing network backbone and e-Governance support to Central Government, State Governments, UT Administrations, Districts and other Government bodies. It offers a wide range of ICT services including Nationwide Communication Network for decentralised planning, improvement in Government services and wider transparency of national and local Governments. NIC assists in implementing Information Technology Projects, in close collaboration with Central and State Governments, in the areas of (a) Centrally sponsored schemes and Central sector schemes, (b) State sector and State sponsored projects, and (c) District Administration sponsored projects. NIC endeavours to ensure that the latest technology in all areas of IT is available to its users.

 

 

Activities:

 

      It provides informatics support to the District Administration and other State and Central Government Offices since its inception.

      Development of necessary and appropriate information system / databases in various sections.

    Promoting informatics culture at District level.

          Providing to improve the analytical capacity and quality presentation for decision making and district planning.

     Establishment of Computer network with necessary communication equipments for ensuing reliable, timely and accurate information enabling optimal use of resources.

       Providing extensive training and up-gradation of Govt. personnel in use of IT based services.

     To provide the best quality service to the district administration.

     Providing support to all implemented District, State and National level projects for smooth running.

     Regular inquiry and develop software in the need to district Administration.

                    SCPC DAMA VSAT for video  conferencing.

                   Gilat Skystar 360-E VSAT for internet connectivity.

 

Video Conferencing:

          Video Conferencing (VC) Studio was established at Bargarh District Unit in the year 2006.

           It has two alternate connections, which provides 256 kbps and 2 MBPS (Leased Line) speed.
